New Enrollment Guidelines for Out-Of-State Students
During the 2019 Legislative Session, Kansas Legislators adopted a change to the school funding formula that applies to out-of-state students who are attending Kansas schools. As a result, these changes will impact out-of-state students attending Riverton USD 404.
Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, any student who resides in a state other than Kansas, who enrolls for the 2019-2020 school year, shall pay tuition to Riverton USD 404 equal to twenty-five (25%) percent of the Kansas Base State Aid Per Pupil ($1109).
Exemptions to the policy shall include the following:
A student who has been continuously enrolled in Riverton USD 404 during the 2018-2019 school year
A student’s Parent/Guardian or Grandparent is an employee of Riverton USD 404
A student is a sibling of a student who has been continuously enrolled in Riverton USD 404 during the 2018-2019 school year.
Sibling of a Riverton USD 404 graduate.
The out of state tuition shall be capped at a total amount per family which shall not exceed the amount of tuition equal to two (2) students.
