Organizational Goals of the Riverton USD 404 Board of Education"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence."-Vince Lombardi
It is the goal of the Riverton USD 404 Board of Education to:
Ø Provide a safe, orderly and student-centered learning environment focused on providing students the skills and character necessary to become happy, healthy and productive citizens.
Ø Improve student performance on all measurements of student progress.
In order to assist the board of education, faculty, and students in determining our success with respect to this goal, the following benchmarks have been established:
o On the Kansas State Assessments, students at each grade level will strive to meet the standard of excellence in all assessed areas. In addition to meeting the standard of excellence, it is an expectation that each assessed grade level will achieve a proficiency rate of at least 90%.
o With respect to the PLAN, the average composite score of tested sophomores will equal the average composite of sophomores nationwide.
o With respect to the ACT, the average composite score of Riverton USD 404 core completers will equal or exceed the average of core completers state-wide.
o On the NWEA Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP), all students will meet their individual growth target each year.
Ø Foster an environment of positive communication between the district and its teachers, students, parents and community stakeholders.
Ø Remain cognizant of facility needs and attend to those requirements in a fiscally responsible manner.
