      2017 KSDE AEOP SCHOLARSHIP 

       $300 Scholarship for students planning to major in a business related field.

      Applications are now available for the Kansas State Department of Education Association of Educational Office Professionals (KSDE AEOP) Margaret Van Horn Scholarship.  Each year the association offers a scholarship to a Kansas student.  Applicants must be majoring in either education or business with a minimum enrollment of nine semester hours or at least half time.  The scholarship award is offered for the purchase of books, payment of fees or tuition, purchase of supplies, or other academic expenses. 

      Emphasis for selection of the recipient will be based on the scholarship application, initiative exhibited, character shown, and/or other factors supporting his/her candidacy. 

      The completed application, with original signature and enclosures, must be postmarked by January 20, 2017  Emailed applications will not be accepted.

      ACF Visionary Scholarship Program 

      Each award is a non-renewable, one-time award and is to be used exclusively to offset costs and fees related directly to the student’s first year of higher post-secondary education at an accredited institution of the student’s choosing within the US. If an under classman is an award recipient, the monies will be held by the ACF until the student completes high school and begins higher education.
      $1,000- $5,000 each (Non -renewable)
      Financial need not considered.
      Application Deadline 2015-16 (must be received by): April 1, 2016
      Winners chosen May 15,2016 and awards distributed: July 17,2016
      Only one application per student, per award year will be accepted.

      The Kansas Masonic Foundation offers interest free (until graduation) student loans that may turn into scholarships if students demonstrate good performance in college.

      June Scholarships

      The 2015 Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

      Nursing Schools Almanac is proud to announce our inaugural Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. We will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:
      • A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
      • A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare
      Competition eligibility
      This scholarship competition is open to all US high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs.

      Applicants must be in good academic standing and on track to graduate from high school at the conclusion of the 2014-15 academic year. Only one application entry is accepted per student.

      Important dates
      June 30, 2016: Submission deadline for scholarship applications is 11:59pm PT.
      July 2016: Scholarship committee will meet to review all applications received.
      August 2016: Winner will be notified and $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.

      Terms and conditions
      One scholarship winner will be selected to receive a one-year, non-renewable $1,000 scholarship.
      Scholarship recipient will be chosen at the sole discretion of the Aspiring Nurse Scholarship committee.

      Scholarship funds may be used to pay for tuition, books, supplies, or any other direct education expenses.
      Scholarship recipient must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited US nursing program.

      Once submitted, all essays are property of Nursing Schools Almanac and may be published at its discretion.
      Nursing Schools Almanac will announce the scholarship winner on its website and through its media outlets.

      BigSun Scholarship
      The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

      Dr. "Click" Cowger Baseball Scholarship
      This $500 scholarship is awarded to a Kansan who has participated in American Legion Baseball. Applications must be received in Department Headquarters by July 15.
      Paul Flaherty Athletic Scholarship
      This $250 scholarship is awarded to a high school boy or girl who has participated in school athletics. Applications must be received in Department Headquarters by July 15
      "Need A Lift?"
      National furnishes this booklet, containing over two billion dollars in scholarships and educational information, to schools and libraries for the benefit of assisting students who need help in furthering their education. The book is updated annually and contains hundreds of scholarships, grants, and occupational opportunities available to high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores.
