Riverton Middle School: Archives

The Riverton Rams Middle School Football Team

Coming to an end with a 4-3 record

by Coach Chad Harper

December 07, 2007

Football season for Riverton Middle School has come to an end once again.  The team did a great job this year, and the Rams faced some quality teams, which caused us to reflect as coaches and players at one point in the season.  After a few changes, the Rams regained some momentum to finish out the year.  The record for RMS this year was 4-3.

I want to first thank the players for not giving in to defeat and keeping trust in themselves, each other, and the coaches.   Secondly, parents have given us to the opportunity work with their sons, set aside time for practice, attended games, and taken time to do LAUNDRY. (Whew!)  Other thanks go out to Coach Garber who prepared us physically; his work in warm-ups, conditioning, and the weight room is continually helping our teams here at Riverton.  Coach Rider brought some new ideas, enthusiasm, and talent to our team this year.  We had consistent support from the cheerleaders and Mrs. McDonald; they were always there cheering us on—even in the rain.

I encourage you to visit with any of outstanding young men and ask them what they learned during football this year.  I’m sure part of the discussion will be about bruises, winning games, improving, and “STINKING INTENSITY!”  Thanks again for another great year.
