Accelerated Reader

September 05, 2007

Parent Access to Accelerated Reader:

We are very excited to move to a web-based Accelerated Reader program!  This new program allows students to have access to every test that is created by the Renaissance Learning company, which dramatically increases the number of books students can take tests on.

Students have been given log in information and instructions for the new program, and while this program is web-based, students still have to be on a computer within the school network to take a test or to view their records.  A parent, however, can access his/her student’s reading records and AR progress online from any computer with an internet connection.  If you would like to request a parent login, follow the steps below:

To get to the Renaissance Place login (which includes Accelerated Reader):

1.      Go to the Riverton home page:  www.usd404.org

2.      Click on “Learning Library” on the right

3.      Click on “Accelerated Reader Login”

4.      Click on “Parent”

5.      Click on “Request Parent/Guardian Access”

6.      Complete the required information. If you have more than one student, you can request access to all students at one time by choosing the number of children and then clicking “set.”  This will provide boxes to enter each student’s personal information. As you enter each child, you must also specify your relationship to him/her by using the pull down menu to the right.

7.      Click on “Save” to submit and “Done” to exit.

Your request will be processed, and your username and password will be sent to you via e-mail to the address you entered on your request.  The first time you log in, you will be asked to change your password.

If you are trying to find out if a specific book has a test, you will need to go to:  “Wondering if your book has a test” on the Learning Library page.

If you have questions, please email Christy Mercer at cmercer@usd404.org or Delaina Brown at dbrown@usd404.org.  Make sure to include “Parent info” in the subject line.
