Webbstock
A festival of Peace, Love and Drills! On Saturday September 29th, the Riverton High School Marching Band went to Webb City, Missouri for the Third Annual Webbstock Festival. It is one of the premier marching festivals in the area.
The parade started, in the downtown area, at 10:00a.m. followed by the field show competition. There were twenty-two bands in the parade. For the parade, Riverton played "Jesus is Just All right." The field competitions began 12:30p.m. There were twenty-eight bands participating in the field show competition including three exhibitions from Webb City High School Band, MSSU, and PSU. Riverton's field show was at 2:30p.m. The Riverton High School Band's show theme was "Saturday Night at the Movies." Our songs were 20th Century Fox Fanfare, Star Wars/Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jaws/Superman, and Spiderman. The Drum Major is Michelle Andrews.
Riverton came in 2nd place in the street march and 6th place in field show competition. Kayla Paxson stated, "We got to see a lot of different bands and to actually compete instead of just performing. My favorite part of the day was when we got to go to the mall and then coming back and relaxing and watching the other bands perform. I think we should have had more practice time. I think we performed nice."
Good Job Band Members!
